About: The KBP is the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (Association of Broadcasters of the Philippines), the foremost broadcast media organization in the country, composed of owners and operators of radio and television stations (Regular Members) and the radio and television stations themselves (Associate Members).

KBP is a broadcast media organization here in the Philippines which provides its members broadcasting standards. The KBP was organized on April 27, 1973 in order to promote professional and ethical standards in Philippine broadcasting both in radio and television (TV). The KBP provides broadcast media regulations and guidelines for news, public affairs and commentaries, political broadcasts, children’s shows, religious programming, and including advertising to its members. The members of the KBP are composed of the owners and operators of radio and television stations including the radio and television stations themselves.

  • Business and Trade Development
  • Foreign and Educational Visits

Vision:
  • The KBP shall be an organization that advances and sustains the highest standards of quality in the broadcast industry through the exercise of self-regulation for responsible broadcasting.
  • It shall advocate positive change by upholding the social, cultural and economic development of the nation.
  • It shall represent and promote the interest and welfare of its members and the broadcast industry at all times, mindful of its duty to God, country and people.
Mission: MISSION STATEMENT:
  • We shall defend and uphold press freedom, free speech and expression and the right of the people to public information.
  • We shall encourage and enhance the practice and development of the highest ethical standards and values in our broadcast content and services.
  • We shall promote the highest level of professionalism in the practice of the broadcast profession.
  • We shall strive to foster and preserve unity and promote fair competition amongst our members and in the communities where we operate.
  • We shall adopt the latest trade practices and feasible technologies that promote the economic viability of the broadcast industry.
  • We shall contribute in the promotion of economic, social and cultural development of our nation and advocate concern for the environment.
Objectives: The KBP was organized to elevate professional and ethical standards in Philippine broadcasting, promote social responsibility in broadcasting, work for the advancement of the broadcast industry and protect the rights and interests of broadcasters, seminars and conferences.

To achieve these aims and purposes, the KBP implements several programs and projects, such as enforcement of a code of conduct for broadcast stations, radio research projects, liaison with government agencies and other organizations, implementation of technical standards for broadcast stations, public service campaigns on radio and TV, awards for excellence, accreditation of announcers, and more.
