About:
|
COMPACT is an organization of various IPR owners and stakeholders to help safeguard patents, copyrights, trademarks, and other Intellectual Property Rights. The members, who come from many diverse lines, have banded together so that they can pool individual and other resources, to help stop further violations against their rights- and be heard more loudly and clearly by the government and the general public.
Unlike other trade organizations, which concentrate and serve only specific groups and concerns, COMPACT is more like a rainbow coalition of individuals, companies and industry groups who all have a stake in IPR. The government has recognized this and included COMPACT as a member of the recently convened intellectual Property Rights Action Panel (IP-REAP) together with the Intellectual Property Office (IPO), Department of Justice, the Videogram Regulatory Board VRB), Bureau of Customs, PNP, NBI, NTC and Intellectual Property Association of the Philippines (IPAP), among few others.

COMPACT attends the IP-REAP in a meeting/session at least once a month to coordinate all the efforts of government in its campaign against IPR violators.
